Born in 1963 in Martinique and nurtured by the raw light of French Guiana, Agnès Etchegoyen developed early on a unique perspective—one shaped by untamed nature and a fertile imagination. Her artistic universe arises from a delicate balance between the dreamlike world of a romantic fairy tale and the graphic aesthetic of a futuristic comic strip.
At the age of 14, she picked up her first camera—a professional model passed down from her father. Driven by her visceral love of nature, she began to explore the elements—water, sand, wind—with rare acuity. Yet her passion remained in a state of latency until an unexpected revelation: the Venice Carnival. From that journey, a turning point emerged. Thousands of images captured, a sense of wonder, and an intuition—transform, sublimate, tell a new story.
