Chinese artist born in Shenyang, Xiaoxia Yang belongs to a generation of creators who combine academic rigor with creative freedom. A graduate of the Printmaking Department of the prestigious Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, she is now a professor and master tutor at the Shenyang University of Fine Arts, where she shares her knowledge and passion with new generations. But Xiaoxia Yang is far more than a dedicated teacher: she is an explorer of forms and sensations, a poet of color, a disciplined dreamer.
Mastering printmaking as well as oil painting, watercolor, pastel and drawing, Xiaoxia has developed a multifaceted body of work at the crossroads of traditional Chinese art and a contemporary sensibility turned toward the universal. Her works, exhibited in both China and France, have been shown in museums as well as in collective contemporary art exhibitions, notably in Nice, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and La Gaude. There, she unfolds a universe that is both orderly and free, structured and vibrant, where nature always plays the leading role.
