Born in 1973, Véronique Faravel grew up in Provence, where the light clings to the hills and the Mistral sculpts the landscapes like living canvases. For her, the countryside was a place of sensory exploration and freedom, a space where the gaze is born and the relationship with the living world takes shape. It was there, among olive trees and fragments of sky, that her sense of the infinite took root. As a young girl, she marvelled at Cézanne’s work and tried to imitate it; she also discovered artworks at the Pierre Souche gallery in Orange, already sensing her calling as an artist.
But life sometimes imposes detours. Forbidden from pursuing art studies, she followed a conventional professional path, where the narrowness of the framework gradually stifled her creative drive. It was not until 2017 that Véronique chose to return to her true path, creation, with a calm determination. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her art, which she practices as a form of elevation and transmission.
