Monique Lafond is a Canadian painter born in Montreal, whose artistic journey reflects a mastery refined over many years. A graduate in Visual Arts from UQAM (School of Visual and Media Arts), she further honed her eye and technique at the Saidye-Bronfman Centre for the Arts in Montreal, then at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art in Florida. Drawing from a dual universe — abstraction and contemporary landscape — she has shaped a personal style in which color becomes a vector of emotion, vibration, and balance.
“My paintings are the result of research in both pictorial and chromatic language. Figurative or non-figurative elements come together within the space, creating textures and atmospheres through a palette of colors that are at times discordant, yet always harmonious.” This sensitive exploration of visual language has become her signature. With more than 200 exhibitions worldwide and around twenty awards and distinctions, Monique Lafond has earned the recognition of her peers and a loyal public. Her name now stands among the established figures of contemporary Canadian art.
