Ludovic Guerin

Born in 1994 in Paulnay, in the Indre region of France, Ludovic Guérin grew up in a sensitive and curious environment, nurtured by parents passionate about DIY, interior decoration and electronic music. An eclectic childhood where creativity circulated freely, shaping from an early age a keen eye for materials, aesthetics and light.

It was in the South of France, where his mother painted and exhibited, that Ludovic encountered his first artistic inspirations. Bronze, steel, the gestures of sculptors… everything fascinated him. At his grandfather’s home—an architect—he learned to observe volumes, lines, and the careful design of interior spaces. “I’ve always been sensitive to atmospheres. What you feel in a room often comes from invisible details, like the light.”

In 2017, everything began with a gesture of love: a light fixture designed for a family member disappointed by the standardized products found in major retail chains. Raw wood, unexpected shapes, soft diffused light — the piece drew admiration. From that moment on, Ludovic decided to make light his primary material, and design his language.

His creations now carry the name G Light Design: G for Guérin, Light for the luminous essence of his work, and Design for this constant pursuit of harmony and emotion. His pieces are never simple functional objects. They are unique works conceived to interact with a space, elevate a moment, and envelop those who live within it.

Each project begins with a reflection. Ludovic chooses his materials, shapes the wood, sculpts the panels, and integrates light like a breath — a subtle whisper that redraws the contours of a room. Sometimes, he also mixes music, designs the scenography of a space, and makes sound and light converse as two components of the same universe.

His work with metal is singular. Due to a rare condition — ectodermal dysplasia — he cannot tolerate heat. He therefore taught himself to weld cold. A constraint transformed into an artistic discipline. “It’s longer, more delicate, but I need it. Every gesture has to matter.” This patience gives birth to refined, powerful works imbued with a quiet poetry.

In 2018, he exhibited his creations at L’Art au Quotidien at the Palais des Congrès in Tours. The public discovered pieces such as IA, Hétéroclite, Square Life, Lampe avec tablette… Enigmatic names for luminous works that invite viewers to slow down, contemplate, and feel.

A sculptor of light, Ludovic Guérin does not seek to dazzle, but to reveal. To create a cocoon, an atmosphere, a presence. A discreet breath within space. Unique — like every work he signs. And like him.
