Kooki

Karine Bricout, known by her artistic name Kooki, was born in 1971 into a warm, nurturing family that passed down to her a deep sense of creativity, energy, and curiosity. From childhood, she revealed herself as a true all-rounder: a tinkerer, a musician, a sports enthusiast—always exploring, always moving toward new horizons. But it was in November 2014, almost by chance, that she discovered painting. A world opened before her, one she embraced with passion and sensitivity. At Christmas 2018, she created her first sculpture—like a gift born from the heart. “After several canvases, sculpture entered my life. A new art form, a new gift where all my sensitivity and the depth of my soul finally take shape,” she explains. Since then, this need to create has never left her.

A self-taught artist, Kooki moves forward guided by her emotions, her travels, and the people she meets. Each creation emerges from an inner impulse, an intuition she follows without hesitation. She lets herself be led by the moment, shaping unique works that resonate with sincere, contagious energy.

Her works reflect a universe rich in texture and symbolism. She does not hesitate to incorporate materials such as fabric, sand, glitter, or gesso into her creations, giving her paintings a strong, sensory presence. Reliefs emerge from the canvas like extensions of her emotions. Wild animals—lions, elephants, giraffes—hold a central place in her work, evoking power, nobility, and freedom. The sea, both shifting and spiritual, also inspires many of her compositions with its interplay of light and silence.

In recent years, Kooki has also begun exploring portraiture—a new field of expression where she translates her joy of living into vibrant bursts of color. The faces she creates, often feminine, radiate mystery and inner strength. They evoke both intimacy and universality, the movement of the heart and the beauty of the soul. Like mirrors, they invite viewers to reflect on what connects us all: emotion, presence, and inner light.

Her works quickly resonated with the public. In 2019, she exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Artistes Amateurs at the Palais de l’Europe in Menton. In 2021, she held a solo exhibition at the Résidence Le Golfe Bleu in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. She was then selected to take part in the prestigious ART3F salon in Monaco. That same year, she was honored at the Luxembourg Art Prize, receiving the Certificate of Artistic Merit — a distinction that confirmed the uniqueness and generosity of her artistic approach.

Kooki does not seek to follow trends or conform to expectations. She paints and sculpts from the heart, letting her own light emerge. Each work invites the viewer to dream, to feel, to reconnect with the beauty of the world. Through her creations, she shares positive energy, subtle vibrations, and a breath of life. On Art Collect® Store, her universe opens to those who seek sincere, vibrant works filled with momentum and emotion.
