Born in 1960 in Saint-Jean-d’Angély, in the heart of Charente-Maritime, Gyslaine Pachet Micheneau grew up surrounded by the gentle lines of the landscape, the changing hues of the sky, and the quiet call of spirituality. From an early age, she sensed that drawing could be an intimate language. She began by sketching, with charcoal and ink, the moods of her native region. This first sensitivity, deeply rooted in the earth and its elements, would remain the guiding thread throughout her work.
Now based near Tours, she leads an artistic journey marked by a discreet yet profound richness. A self-taught artist, she joined Anne Frigière’s studio in 1997 at the Moulin de Pernay (Indre-et-Loire). There, she learned the fundamentals of watercolor, oil painting, the three-pencil technique, charcoal, and acrylic. Very soon, she exhibited her first works in emblematic venues across the region — Vouvray, Luynes, Azay-le-Rideau — always with nature as the matrix of her inspiration. Painting outdoors, exchanging with visitors at art markets, creating in the open air: each of these moments continues to nourish her gesture and her art.
