Caroline Montigneaux

Born in 1971 in Strasbourg, Caroline Montigneaux grew up in a family cocoon where art, painting, sculpture, and design held a cherished place. From an early age, her hands drew, danced, strummed a guitar… and her gaze was trained through contact with forms, lines, and styles. Young Caroline was immersed in the visual arts, but also in the rhythm of movement — twelve years of classical and modern jazz dance, and an artistic curiosity that never faded.

After taking independent courses at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, she chose to pursue studies at a business school in Paris, while maintaining a strong passion for creation. Even during her internships in advertising, she naturally gravitated toward the artistic teams. Her final thesis focused on Yves Saint Laurent — an early sign of her lasting fascination with the harmony of style, modernity, and timelessness.

Caroline began a career in marketing and communications, notably within companies in the technology sector. Fifteen years spent in technical and rational environments — yet she retains from that time a sense of observation and inner construction. Until the day the artist within her took over once again.

It was through sharing her creations on Instagram that fate intervened: Kossi Aguessy, the internationally renowned industrial designer and contemporary artist, discovered her work and sent her several enthusiastic messages. This spontaneous recognition sparked a certainty within her — she had to follow this path.

Since then, Caroline Montigneaux has composed a universe made of three artistic constellations. The first, gentle and playful, brings to life her “little girls” — mischievous, feminine, joyful silhouettes that dance between fashion, illustration, and intimacy. The second, more abstract, explores matter and color through acrylic painting — rich in nuances and emotion, mature, poetic, and organic. The third finally unleashes her raw power: a world of graffiti, tagged slogans, and sketched silhouettes, as if painting itself had become a cry. Here, the artist gives free rein to her raw energy, her passions, and her contradictions — an instinctive, intense, visceral form of expression.

This visual vitality did not go unnoticed by the luxury lingerie brand Lise Charmel, which dedicated an exhibition to her at its Paris headquarters in 2018. And because art can also heal, Caroline regularly draws her “little girls” for charitable causes: *Le Rêve de Talia*, *Accepte ta Perruque*, *Octobre Rose*… In 2020, one of her illustrations was chosen for the official breast cancer awareness campaign.

Angel or demon, gentle or striking, Caroline Montigneaux does not choose — she traces everything she is, in bold colors, sensitive lines, and multiple lives. An artist to follow… or to feel.
