THE PAINTINGS OF ALDÉHY
Born in 1956 in Châtellerault, Aldéhy began his journey as a painter in 1975 during a formative stay in the New Hebrides (today’s Vanuatu). The following year, he continued his artistic path in Australia before entering the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse in 1977, where he later graduated. From the United States to Japan, and across the Amazon, his travels became fertile territories of inspiration, fueling the energy needed to shape his identity as a figurative painter. His signature lies in conceiving thematic exhibitions that narrate the world through sensitive sequences.
A master of light and detail, Aldéhy explores a wide spectrum of subjects, diverse yet deeply interconnected. Among his most significant works, the series “Cathedrals of Light – Fourteen Moments in a Child’s Day” stands out for its emotional accuracy, narrative strength, and technical virtuosity. Each painting captures the ephemeral with rare acuity, blending depth and delicacy.
His compositions unfold in acrylic, oil, charcoal, or Chinese ink, on canvas, paper, wood, or synthetic panels (Komacel). While acrylic remains his medium of choice, he often combines techniques to better explore the nuances of matter and light. Fully attuned to his time, Aldéhy has also transposed his work into the digital realm: his Digital Creations (NFTs) reinterpret his paintings through the lens of new technologies, adding yet another dimension to his already rich and harmonious creative arc. His work was presented in Monaco in a collective exhibition organized by Art Collect®, marking a new milestone of recognition for the artist.
