Corinne CANTA, also known as CACO, is an artist from Nice whose painting engages in an intense dialogue with the world. Born in Nice in 1960, she discovered the language of color at a very young age through her grandmother. From childhood, painting became for her a refuge, an inner voice, an obvious calling. At just nine years old, she was already creating expressive and tender dog portraits for her loved ones — and she never stopped.

Trained in decorative arts in Nice and influenced by renowned artistic workshops, CACO has developed a distinctive visual language. For her, painting means giving form to what vibrates, to what moves. A committed feminist, she creates portraits of powerful, stylized women where emotions surface through gazes, shapes, and colors. These are not simply faces — they are souls that look back at us. She does not seek academic beauty, but rather a raw, sensitive, and deeply truthful expression.

Her style, at the crossroads of Cubism, Pop Art, and gestural abstraction, draws inspiration from Picasso, Braque, Lichtenstein, Pollock, and JonOne. Yet CACO revisits these influences with bold freedom. Vivid colors, dynamic flat tones, reclaimed materials, glossy varnishes — her canvases are visual scores full of energy. Nothing is fixed; everything breathes, everything pulses. Acrylic becomes fluid, rhythmic, and intuitive.

For CACO, art is an embodied act. Her works form bridges between the intimate and the universal, between introspection and joy. In her abstractions, one senses an effusion of light, a will to awaken. In her portraits, an inner dialogue takes place. She does not seek to seduce but to resonate.

Exhibited in Nice, Marseille, and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, CACO offers a generous and visceral kind of painting. She paints as one breathes — to live better, to speak without words, to connect. Her work, blending strength, freedom, and poetry, speaks directly to the soul.
